WOOPS!!!!! I made a mistake on the recent newsletter I sent out by snail mail. I listed the date on August 19 as Tazewell, Tennessee and it's not Tazewell,TN, it's Tazewell, Virginia, at the Tazewell County Fair. Please pass that on to anyone you know who might be thinking of driving to that show. I'll send a card out to our snail mail list but thought I should post it here and on the bulletin board. Thanks,

"Old Friends Get Together" - the new Crowe-Lawson-Williams CD is avaiable for $18.00. It will take a few days to get it on the website so if you just can't wait, give me a call at the office. 423-878-6160 I'm here pretty much every morning, but I run out to the post office, usually between 9:30 am and 10:30 am. IT GREAT!!!!

Doyle, Paul Williams and JD Crowe recorded a CD of Jimmy Martin gospel songs several years ago. They sang some of these songs at IBMA one year and some this year at Denton. The CD is finally here. I think any of you who enjoy these 3 musicians would enjoy this CD, especially since they are singing some great gospel songs and I know you'll love the songs. Call the office and order a CD, $18. We are working on a new website and won't have this on our merch page at this time.

5/10/2010 The Alaska Bluegrass Cruise folks called me this morning and after discussing the economy, they asked if I would agree to cancel the upcoming July31-Aug 7,2010 cruise. I agreed. If you booked the cruise, please get back in touch with the folks at Cottage Music for your refund. If you have any trouble, let us know. Again, we are all disappointed and had started cutting back on our food intatke in anticipation of enjoying the great food and fellowship on the the cruise.

Did you know that the post office is issuing a page of cowboy stamps? Doyle is really excited. I think they are going to be here on Monday, 4/19. You really should check them out if you are into cowboys and such like Doyle is.

In case you don't usually get on the bulletin board...check out the "In the Studio" videos on youTube...one is of the guys in the studio, the other is Doyle and Van mixing/fixing the new cd. REALLY COOL!!!!!

Hope you received your email newletter...if you would like to be added to that list, email me at dlqkslvr@doylelawson.com. I really like that it is a monthly letter. If you have any ideas about some subject we might address, email me. I really like Suzanne's recipe corner in the newsletter. She is an excellent cook, and is known around here for her desserts, especially cakes. Our Ruritan Club has an annual Bean & Soup Supper on the last Saturday in January every year, and Suzanne makes many desserts for that event. I think her sweets bring in a lot of our attendees.

Doyle and the guys are at Crossroads recording the new gospel project. Corey Hensley has written two bang-up Gospel songs that will be on it. What talent! Dale Perry and Jason Leek seem to have settled in and everything is "ticking". We have been fairly ruthless with Jason Leek; the kidding never stops. The newest member always seems to get the most flack! He is a good sport, though, and really pleasant to have around.

We have a new email newsletter coming out soon. I hope you will enjoy reading about what's been going on. Doyle and the guys are in Asheville, NC, at Crossroads, recording a new gospel project this week, next week, and probably the next one. They have several new songs for this cd. We hope it will be available before the end of March.

This coming Saturday, the band is playing at the West End Assembly of God in Richmond, VA. This is the 10th year in a row for that concert so it qualifies as an anniversary of sorts. Hope to see all you you eastern VA folks there on Saturday.

NEW EP AVAILABLE ON iTunes TODAY!

I think this is a first for us. Today, you can go to iTunes and download 3 songs off the new album, "Lonely Street" which is to be released on May 5th. The 3 songs are Lonely Street, Down Around Bear Cove, and When the Last of Our Days Shall Come. The EP is titled "To Be Continued"! Hope you enjoy it!

Here is some news...we have been back and forth with Greg and Carla Hosner about the cruise to Alaska in August. We agree with them that, due to many things, we are going to cancel the cruise for this year, and reschedule for next year. I know you will all agree that the financial situation right now would probably keep people from booking to the cruise, and we want to go with a big group, so save your $$$ and plan to go next year! If you have already booked the cruise, please get in touch with Carla about a refund. She will be able to help you with that. We hate it because we really wanted to go again this year, but this seems like a wise decision.
